The founder of Consortium News in 2015 foresaw Benjamin Netanyahu, despite leveling false charges of antisemitism, turning Americans against Israel by going too far with the Palestinians and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meeting with his generals to discuss the offensive in Gaza in 2014. (Israeli government) Consortium News founding editor Robert Parry had a knack for being years ahead of everyone else in the media in assessing the meaning and direction of a story. For instance, in 2015 he warned that the U.S.-backed coup in Ukraine could not only lead to war with Russia, but that it could…
Shortly after midnight, the United States struck Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas, which is home to a naval base. A US official described the actions as “measured, purely defensive, and intended to maintain the ceasefire.” Trump: Iran Ceasefire Is “On Life Support” In addition to the strikes, the US official told media outlets that American forces shot down four Iranian kamikaze drones that “posed a threat around the Strait of Hormuz” and had also struck a ground control station in Bandar Abbas that “was about to launch a fifth drone.” Previously, there had been reports of the US striking Iranian…
Ben Keener and I have posted a new paper on the original meaning of the Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. This one provides an extended analysis of the English common law origins of the native birth rule and of the debates in the 39th Congress over the meaning of the Citizenship Clause that they adopted as part of the Fourteenth Amendment. Ben has written about this issue before here, and I have written about it here and here. Although the Court will be ruling on this issue shortly, whatever the Court chooses to say will be unlikely to end…
This attempt to enforce Western sanctions in areas where Western powers have no jurisdiction is a classic example of the current aggressive resurgence of imperialism replacing international law. NASA satellite imagery of the Strait of Dover, the narrowest part of the English Channel, 2002. (NASA Visible Earth/Wikimedia Commons/Public Domain) By Craig MurrayCraigMurray.org.uk I was genuinely surprised by the Starmer regime’s refusal to state that the Israeli boarding of the Global Sumud Flotilla on the High Seas was illegal. I did not realise it was because the U.K. was planning to undertake similar illegal seizure itself. The Gaza Flotilla seizure was illegal:…
Sam Abu Haikal, killed by IDF. Earlier this month in Hebron, in the southern West Bank, a seven‑month‑old Palestinian baby, Sam Abu Haikal, was killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire on his family’s car — a single bullet passing through the father’s hand before striking the infant and his mother. The car was carrying the boy and several relatives, including his grandmother, when they approached the soldiers. This was yet another in a series of incidents in which Palestinian civilians were unjustifiably killed, revealing a daily architecture of violence and fear under Israeli occupation — a reality that statistics alone…
A premier institution dedicated to advancing academic freedom is reportedly working to limit free speech on college campuses. In February 2024, the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), which sets professional standards in higher education, launched the Center for the Defense of Academic Freedom (CDAF). The center, according to its mission statement, is “committed to preserving and expanding conditions that make it possible to work, teach, learn, create, and share knowledge in ways that promote the common good.” But new revelations from City Journal indicate that the CDAF is not living up to its name; instead, its membership has taken…
A Technology That Could Change Everything After years of following low energy nuclear reactions (LENR), I have watched the conversation shift from mockery to serious investment. LENR is arguably the most important development for human freedom I have ever witnessed. Energy scarcity is the root of global conflict, financial control, and government tyranny. LENR offers abundant, decentralized power that breaks those chains, and it’s now reaching a level of investment and maturity that means actual deployment is right around the corner. As I warned in my article ‘Prepare to Survive Engineered Energy Scarcity as a Means of Total Enslavement,’ the…
On May 29, DOJ asked Judge Ross to recuse in United States v. Raffensperger, a suit to obtain Georgia election records. The motion sat on the docket for more than two weeks. On June 15, DOJ filed a notice of intent to file a petition for a writ of mandamus. That motion apparently got Judge Ross’s attention. This morning, she recused from the case. Judge Ross doesn’t quite admit that she is the subject judge. She only presents facts as stated by the United States. Based on media accounts, the United States asserts that the undersigned attended an event likely…
June 16, 2026 Leah Yananton Image by Bill Jelen. A dramatic increase in SpaceX rocket launches from Vandenberg Space Force Base is planned. Residents may regularly feel the impact of sonic booms on their homes and bodies. The California Coastal Commission denied approval for increased SpaceX launches because of concerns about coastal resources, wildlife, and compliance with state law. Yet federal authorities moved forward, and SpaceX responded by suing the Commission. A question to ask is: Who governs California’s coast—the people of California through environmental protections, or a private corporation backed by federal contracts? California’s coast is home to whales,…
President Donald Trump criticized Israel’s occupation and bombing of Lebanon on Tuesday, as Israel continued to bomb the south in ways that Tehran warns could sabotage a deal to end the Iran War, which entered its 109th day. At the G7 Summit in France on Tuesday, Trump said that “Israel is fighting Hezbollah too long, and too many people are being killed.” He added that “you don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody. There are a lot of people in those apartment houses and they’re not all Hezbollah.” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi…
