Dear RCP reader,
I co-founded RealClearPolitics 25 years ago with a pretty simple bet: If you gave Americans all the information, not just the parts that flatter one side, they’d figure it out for themselves.
This week you’ve heard from Carl and Dan about the investigative reporting and accountability journalism our newsroom is doing. I want to talk to you about what’s ahead because that’s where your support matters most.
In November 2026, every seat in the House and a third of the Senate will be on the ballot. Control of Congress is at stake, and so is the direction of the country for the final stretch of this presidency. You already know what the coverage is going to look like on most networks: dueling spin rooms, breathless predictions, and polls cherry-picked to fit a narrative.
That’s not what we do.
The RealClearPolitics Poll Average has been one of the most reliable tools in American politics, election after election. We don’t weigh the polls to get the answer we want. We don’t suppress data that’s inconvenient. We show you what the numbers actually say and let you draw your own conclusions. In an era when people have every reason to distrust the media, that track record means something.
But accurate polling averages are just one part of it. We have reporters in the White House briefing room pressing for real answers. We have investigative journalists uncovering fraud and holding federal agencies accountable. We publish voices from the left and the right, every single day, because we trust our readers to handle the full picture.
All of that costs money. Increasingly, we depend on readers who believe this kind of journalism is worth advancing.
RealClear’s spring fundraising drive ends tomorrow night. Would you consider making a tax-deductible donation to help launch us into our next 25 years of independent journalism?
You can make your donation here: https://www.realclearmediafund.org/donate/
RealClear has lasted a quarter century not because of any genius on our part, but because millions of Americans want something the rest of the media won’t give them: the whole story, presented fairly. You’re one of those Americans. That’s why I’m writing to you today.
Thank you for 25 years, and for helping us make the next 25 count.
Tom

P.S. Our spring drive closes tomorrow, April 26. When the 2026 midterm coverage heats up this fall, RealClear will be one of the only places you can go for straight, unfiltered polling data and reporting that isn’t bought and paid for by either party. Will you help make that possible? Please consider a donation in this critical election year.
