Trump Posts Poll Showing Americans Overwhelmingly Support Peace Deal with Iran

President Donald Trump posted a poll that found over 60% of Americans support the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the US and Iran last month. Last week. Trump said he “couldn’t care less” that Iran terminated the MOU.

When asked by Big Data Poll if they support the MOU with Iran, 62% of likely American voters said “yes,” compared to just 24% who opposed the deal.

In June, President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart signed an MOU brokered by Pakistan. Under the MOU, the US made significant concessions to Iran, including a ceasefire that includes Lebanon, sanctions relief, and control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The MOU also created the framework for negotiations to permanently end the conflict and establish a new nuclear agreement with Iran. However, the ceasefire collapsed after Washington violated the agreement.

The White House refused to stop Israel from attacking and attempted to open a shipping lane outside of Iran’s control. The attacks have escalated over the past week, with the US targeting Iranian civilian infrastructure and Iranian missiles killing two American soldiers in Jordan.

While Trump was touting a poll on Truth Social Monday, last week he said he was unconcerned that Tehran announced it was no longer complying with the MOU. Overall, Americans are opposed to his Iran policy.

The same Big Data Poll survey found that 36% of Americans approve of the war against Iran, compared with 56% who disapprove. A majority of Americans disapprove of all the wars started or continued by Trump, including Iran, Venezuela, Gaza, and Ukraine.
