Updated casualty figures from Iranian strikes on US bases in the Middle East last week have increased.
Three US soldiers were killed at a US base in Jordan that was hit by an Iranian missile. Additionally, an American was killed in Iraq while attempting to destroy a downed Iranian drone. On Wednesday, The New York Times reported that a dozen US troops in the Middle East sustained significant injuries and were evacuated to Germany.
The casualties occurred after the ceasefire between the US and Iran collapsed. The Memorandum of Understanding established the truce. The US and Israel repeatedly violated the MOU, leading Iran to begin attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump is threatening to bomb civilian infrastructure in Iran every time Iran targets a vessel in the Strait.
At least 18 American soldiers have been killed and over 400 injured since the US and Israel started the war against Iran in February.
On Tuesday, Trump posted a graphic on Truth Social showing that far fewer Americans died during the war against Iran compared to the Iraq, Vietnam, and Afghanistan wars.
