That threat includes the world’s most aggressive military build-up and provocations in the South China Sea; support for hostile regimes in Russia, North Korea and Iran; cyber operations; its global “Belt and Road” investment strategy; funding Code Pink, anti-ICE, No Kings, and other progressive movements; theft of intellectual property from U.S. universities and businesses; purchasing farmland adjacent to U.S. bases; and infiltrating think tanks and research centers. It is old news that all the tech we now live with is constantly gathering data about us. It is important, however, not to become complacent about this or to assume the situation cannot or is not getting worse. Pretty much every piece of digital technology that we interact with likely is gathering some personal information about you which is used to target advertising and to sell to third parties. Regulations in most countries are inadequate and fail to keep up with technological changes. One of the latest venues to soak up information about you may be surprising – your…

Anew report is doing the rounds, warning that the UK’s new Online Safety Act is being circumvented by the cunning device of children drawing fake moustaches. The press is treating it as a big joke, but that’s a propaganda tactic we’ll get to in a second. The process was managed by the United Nations Compensation Commission, created in 1991 as a subsidiary organ of the UN Security Council to handle claims and payments for losses and damage suffered by Kuwait.  Using revenue from oil sales, Iraq made its final payment in…

So Special Judge Steven David (Ind. Super. Ct. St. Joseph County) ruled Friday. There had been a dispute about the reasonableness of the attorney fees, as there often is, but the court largely ruled that defendant’s fee request was indeed reasonable (with only modest deductions). It also noted that the plaintiff didn’t use the opportunity to present live evidence at the fee hearing, which might have offered more of a chance at successfully challenging the fees:For more on the substance of the case, here’s an excerpt from the opinion in Kay v. Irish Rover Inc., decided last year by Indiana…

The very first story on the Drudge Report on both April 23 and 24 was headlined with a quote from Bernard Arnault saying if the Iran war was not quickly settled, it could be a “world catastrophe.” I apparently do not keep up with world business as much as I should, because I did not know that Arnault is one the three richest men in the world along with Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. They trade first, second and third depending on fluctuating stock prices.Arnault heads a French conglomerate, LVMH, which specializes in luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and many…
