Igrew up substantially on the internet, and while my school made a halfhearted effort to block the bad websites, it was comically easy to evade. This was good for me. I read a lot of blogs and webcomics and fanfiction, formed a lot of half-baked but earnest political opinions, improved as a writer, made friends, got into internet arguments, and overall grew as a person.
