Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Times of Israel that he spoke to President Donald Trump about the Iran War Sunday, the 40th day of the conflict’s ceasefire. Israeli media report that the two leaders spoke about Trump’s recent visit to China and the possibility of renewing the conflict with Iran.

The head of Iran’s parliament committee on national security, Ebrahim Azizi, said Saturday that Tehran plans to impose a formal traffic management system in the Strait of Hormuz, restricting passage to commercial vessels and countries cooperating with Iran and charging fees for transit.

“The necessary fees will be collected for the specialized services provided under this mechanism,” Azizi said on X.

Iranian state television reported Saturday that EU countries were in talks with Iran over shipping access through the strait.

Iran’s current stated conditions to end the conflict, as reported by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, include an immediate end to hostilities, non-aggression guarantees, the lifting of U.S. sanctions, Iranian management of the Strait of Hormuz, an end to the ongoing U.S. naval blockade, and an end to the war “on all fronts” including in Lebanon, where Israel has waged a deadly military campaign.
