David Rubenstaine (L) in conversation with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the Economic Club. Photo: US State Department. His name is all over Duke, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Chicago. It’s on the National Archives, the National Zoo, and the Library of Congress. It’s on the Lincoln Center and a handful of TV shows. It’s even featured at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. It’s the name of private equity billionaire and Carlyle Group co-founder David M. Rubenstein, who for years has undertaken one of the country’s most successful reputation laundering projects.…
The Pink Tide that first pulled politics leftward throughout much of Latin America in the 2000s took a bit longer to reach Colombia. Dominated for decades by a right-wing ruling class that accepted massive US military aid to carry out bloody campaigns against armed left-wing rebels, coca farmers, and many, many civilians, Colombia remained what Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez once called the “unsinkable aircraft carrier” for US interests in Latin America at a time when many neighboring countries launched bids for national autonomy and progressive governance.Read Full Article ⟶ Source link

Trump’s Iran deal turns military victory into strategic leverage-ending the war on American terms while keeping maximum pressure on Tehran to comply. Source link
On April 29, 2026, as Chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, I held a hearing and released a report titled “Unmasked: How Biden Health Officials Purposely Turned a Blind Eye Toward COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Signals.” There has not been a bigger government scandal during my lifetime, and yet even now that we have documented proof of corruption, most of the legacy media refuses to report on it.Read Full Article ⟶ Source link
FILE PHOTO: Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. (Credit: Library of Congress) The Senate on Tuesday failed to advance a War Powers Resolution that would direct President Trump to end hostilities against Iran that haven’t been authorized by Congress and prevent the president from restarting the full-scale war against the Islamic Republic. A motion to discharge the resolution out of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee failed on a 47-48 vote, with four Republicans joining most Democrats in supporting the bill. Sen. Jon Fetterman (PA) was the only Democrat to oppose the effort, and he also voted against all eight previous efforts to advance…
Trump cabinet meeting. Screengrab from White House video posted to X. The trope of a flattering court surrounding an individual in power commonly appears in folktales, dictatorships, and toxic corporate culture, encouraged by leaders who believe they’re too big to fail. The consequences of stifling dissent a leadership doesn’t want to hear can be grim, with unfortunate endings in bankruptcy, plane crashes, and collapsed republics. Throughout history, adulation has been scorned as a strategy of the lowest of society, earning flatterers’ condemnation to the Eighth Circle of Hell in Dante’s Inferno. Yet as power in the United States consolidates among Trump officials…
It was a predictable development that was predicted. The loudest media voices cheering President Donald Trump when he attacked Iran were never likely to be with him when he inevitably decided to cut his losses and end the war. Even before the full details of the nascent agreement were published, the Wall Street Journal reported the hawks were already flapping their wings. “If the president signed a bad deal, many of us who cheered and stood by him and thought that his action in Iran was heroic, will be extraordinarily disappointed,” the conservative commentator Ben Shapiro told the outlet, before…
Next month, America will commemorate the date, 250 years ago, that its founders signed the Declaration of Independence, declaring in the process “that all men are created equal.” And yet it took nearly another century for the new nation to apply those words to African Americans. As we celebrate our country and its tradition of individual liberty, we should also celebrate June 19, or Juneteenth, the day that freedom finally extended to black Americans. President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, freeing everyone held in slavery, but it could only be enforced in places under Union…
Date of discovery: June 19, 2026Location of sighting: Mars I found a structure in a recent Curiosity rover photo. Its placed on a hilltop which is the same as many castles on Earth placed on hills so that they are more easy to defend and see the enemies. The structure is huge, about 10 meters tall and 30 meters across or more. I also found some other things I included below. The fact is, we need to know the truth now more than ever before. Mars photos don’t lie, they just reveal the story of the past. Scott C. Waring – UFO…
