In late February, I went to Austin, Texas, to see America’s health secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., headline an “Eat Real Food” rally. A Steak ’n’ Shake food truck was on site, offering free burgers and tallow-fried fries. A band of lanky young men with shaggy beards warmed up the crowd of a few hundred people with “swampadelic-country-rock” songs. As Mr. Kennedy touted the virtues of eating liver and cooking at home, supporters cheered and held up posters featuring steak and cartons of whole milk.Read Full Article ⟶ Source link
This week, editors Peter Suderman, Katherine Mangu-Ward, Nick Gillespie, and Matt Welch discuss the growing push on the left to “tax the rich,” highlighted by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Tax Day message. They examine whether America’s tax system is already highly progressive, why wealth taxes and similar proposals have repeatedly disappointed abroad and in blue states, and whether New York risks copying California’s mistakes. The panel also asks a broader question: With some of the nation’s highest tax burdens, what are taxpayers actually getting in return? Next, the editors mark 4/20 with a conversation about marijuana legalization, the libertarian case for drug freedom,…

Patel, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, brings this lawsuit to hold Defendants The Atlantic Monthly Group LLC and its staff writer, Sarah Fitzpatrick, accountable for a sweeping, malicious, and defamatory hit piece published on April 17, 2026 {“Kash Patel’s Erratic Behavior Could Cost Him His Job”}. Freddie Ponton21st Century Wire Hours after the Pakistan-brokered Iran war ceasefire took effect, Israel struck Lebanon again, killing scores of civilians and displacing tens of thousands overnight during major strikes on April 8-9, 2026. The Western press went silent. At least 1.2 million Lebanese have been forced to flee their homes since March 2026, building on nearly 900,000 displaced during the 2023-2024 crisis, while 87% of the population faces food insecurity and collapsing medical systems. No outrage, no front pages, just the familiar indifference to Israeli violence that characterizes Western media coverage of Israel’s war, while the British democracy promotion machinery quietly advances the same strategic…
A feature length documentary film, released in December 2025, has revived an oft-touted claim of strong evidence of the supernatural. The Case For Miracles1 is based on the 2018 book of the same title by Christian evangelist Lee Strobel.2 Since the film has been criticized for being long on drama and short on evidence, I decided to look for documentation in the book. Unfortunately, when it comes to presenting specific cases of miraculous cures, this is limited to a single chapter, titled “A Tide of Miracles.”3 Among the dramatic cases cited by Strobel is that of a woman identified only…

The American people are often assured that the census is a neutral, constitutional count of those living in the United States—as the Constitution calls it, an “actual Enumeration.” It is supposed to be a simple act of counting persons for representation. Read Full Article ⟶ Source link
