Aaron Terr (FIRE) reports, based on accounts from various publications. Some excerpts: The incident occurred outside a conference hall where Jay Bhattacharya, director of the National Institutes of Health, was scheduled to deliver a keynote address. The Washington Post reports that a small group of researchers quietly handed out printouts of a recent editorial in Diabetes Care criticizing Trump administration policies affecting biomedical research. Peter is Visiting Scholar at Georgetown’s Institute for International Economic Law, an attorney in private practice, and one of the nation’s leading experts on trade law. He played an important role in helping to develop the arguments that ultimately led to the invalidation of the IEEPA…
What an MoU means in the context of a war is confusing and misleading. Is the war over when it is signed? Or is it a pause until there is a misunderstanding? Kathy Gannon Substack As with so much surrounding the Iran war, which the United States and Israel began in February, truth has been elusive and words have lost much of their meaning. A cease fire agreement does not cease the firing. A peace agreement is not an agreement. Instead it is a Memorandum of Understanding. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and U.S. President Donald Trump have been…
