Resumen-English.

Denounces US Lies Used to Justify Aggression.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel rejected the report released by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The president described the document as part of a “transnational neo-McCarthyism” driven by a “clearly fascist movement” that “resorts to lies to create pretexts for sustaining aggression against Cuba and curtailing civil liberties in the United States”. Díaz-Canel highlighted the “millions” allocated annually to programs aimed at regime change, subversion, and terrorism.

On social media, Díaz-Canel singled out Rubio, describing him as “one of the most corrupt officials in the current administration, with proven ties to drug traffickers and terrorists in Florida”, and quoted the proverb “the thief thinks everyone is like him”.

Regarding the national security allegations, the Cuban president was emphatic in stating that “Cuba has never acted to harm the American people, nor has it sought to undermine U.S. national security.” On the contrary, he maintained that “if any country has spied on and attacked another to an obscene degree, it has been the United States against Cuba.”

Díaz-Canel recalled the “millions” allocated annually to programs aimed at regime change, subversion, and terrorism.

He listed historical acts of aggression such as the introduction of diseases, including hemorrhagic dengue, which claimed the lives of 101 children, the downing of the Cubana de Aviación aircraft in Barbados with 73 people on board, bombings at hotels, and assassination attempts.

Finally, the president reiterated his condemnation of the economic blockade, describing it as a “genocidal” act that is exacerbated by the current “energy blockade”.

The president asserted that this policy is “officially conceived and described by the U.S. to wear down the people and undermine their support for the Revolution,” in response to which Cuba is exercising its “legitimate right” to defend itself.
