Tel Aviv has a new Orwellian name for its genocide in Gaza: The Free Movement Plan.
According to Israeli Channel 13, Tel Aviv will force the Palestinians to “voluntarily migrate” from Gaza under the “Free Movement Plan.” An Israeli official explained that Tel Aviv was relaunching the genocide in Gaza under more friendly language.
The Free Movement Plan will allow Israel “to reintroduce the initiative using language deemed more acceptable internationally.” Channel 13 added that Israeli officials “expressed optimism that the change in terminology could help shift those countries’ positions and revive the plan after earlier setbacks.”
Israel has had near-complete control over Gaza for decades, and instituted policies to cause widespread suffering among Palestinians. After the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack, Israel started a brutal bombing campaign in Gaza.
Israel has killed at least tens of thousands of Palestinians in the Strip and destroyed most of the infrastructure. The Palestinians have been forced into massive tent cities, with Israel allowing in a minimal amount of aid and food.
While multiple human rights organizations and experts have labeled Israel’s war against Gaza a genocide, Washington has continued to provide Tel Aviv with the weapons needed to destroy the Strip.
